Our love language is quality time
In a world where we never seem to have enough hours in the day to do what we need or want to do, Jacky and Dean are so excited that you have made space in your lives to join them at their wedding. The importance of prioritizing time with loved ones has never been more clear to them than it has been over the last few months, and they are so grateful that their upcoming nuptials has given them an excuse to gather with their family and friends.
While they understand the desire to keep with tradition and share a link to a registry, time with you means more to them than anything that could be bought in a store. It’s why you have been included in their special day and as such, they are politely asking that no gifts be given. That being said, they do understand that gift giving is a wedding tradition that might mean a great deal to some of their loved ones and wish to honour that. If you do insist on getting them something, their one request is that it be something that allows them to spend more time with you in the near future. For example, they would love to…
-Be taken out to your favourite place to eat (who doesn’t love discovering new places to eat?)
-A video or voice call (via tin cans/string or some manner of electronic. Your choice!)
-Attend a show of your choosing (who knew Fred Penner still plays live shows??)
-Go to a class to learn a new skill (maybe how to imitate a bird mating ritual or make your own lightsaber!)
-A card with a note saying you’d like to have them over for an afternoon of tea/gaming/nerf gun battles (don’t forget your safety goggles)
-A trip out of the galaxy on the NC-1701-D (if you can actually arrange this, that would be amazing!)
…or really anything you could want to do with them! The only limit is your creativity (but maybe check with them first before signing you all up for skydiving lessons…) and that whatever you plan for them, you are included in it.

Wedding Color Palette
Our base colors are black, slate grey, and white—a classic, timeless trio. But let’s be honest, if that was all, it wouldn’t really be us, would it?
To make it truly ours, we’re adding bold splashes of jewel tones, inspired by LEGO’s ever-expanding palette.
So go ahead, wear your sleek black dress or that sharp suit, but don’t be afraid to throw in a pop of fun—a deep sapphire blue, a fiery ruby red, or maybe even a playful emerald green.
After all, life (and weddings) should be a little colorful!
Official marriage ceremony
April 16, 2025 at the Tao of Peace at 8 pm we will be completing the legal side of getting married and officially tying the knot. We are very touched by everyone’s desire to participate and as such would like to invite you to a special event if you wish to come. Immediately after a quick ceremony, we will be enjoying open mat night at our dojo.
The Tao of Peace means so much to our family. They have supported us through all sorts of tough times and we’ve made many lasting friendships within this community. Not to mention, “Kick Your Partner Across The Room” night is our favourite couples therapy!
We invite you to come in your workout clothes and experience open mat night by learning some new moves or trying out some weapons skills.
(If this is your first time visiting the Tao, please come 10-15 minutes early to fill in a waiver)
As we get ready for our special day, we can’t wait to celebrate our love and joy with you.
